Art Philosophy Birthday Card

I LOVE a good sketch!  The sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches is a classic design that will work for any occasion.  I am still working up on using up some of my stash and building my supply of birthday cards.  This card was made with some remaining scraps from the You and Me Kit that was a previous Close To My Heart promo.   This card came together so easily and I love it!  It is such a clean design.  Here is the original sketch.

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted.

Z1686 Cricut Art Philosophy Collection

CC1012 You & Me Kit

D1283 Say It In Style

D1475 Card Chatter-Birthday

1388 Colonial White Cardstock

X5643 Chocolate Cardstock

Z2111 Chocolate Ink

Z2311 Chocolate Marker

Glimmer Basic Brads by Stampin Up

Here is a close up of the layered flowers that were cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

I cut Flower 6 from page 29 of the Art Philosophy booklet in three sizes.  1”, 1 1/8” and 1 ¼”.  I then inked the outside of the flower edges to give the shape more texture.  I alternated the layers and then finished off the flower with a sparkly brad. The cards were attached to the card with pop-dots to give them more dimension.

I have also entered this card in the following challenges:

Birthday Sundaes-Birthday Saying

Bugaboo Stamps-Anything Goes

Mark’s Finest Papers-Use Brads

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. It's a lovely traditional card for any time and any place…I love cards like that. Yes, wonderful sketch. You put a lot of time into this CAS card. Takes time to ink around ALL those petals, and look how lovely it turned out. Thank you for sharing with us this week at Catch the Bug.
