Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #457

Time for a new sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I inked up the new Thank You Kindly stamp set for a western themed thank you card. I used my stamped images to follow along with the sketch design. Here is the original sketch for you to play along with-

The Thank You Kindly stamp set includes four stamps and is available with coordinating Thin Cuts. I love that the boot and floral bouquet are separate stamps. They are both are larger images that can easily stamp alone on your project. The boot Thin Cut has a genius design that is not obvious in the catalog. The die, cuts a slit in the boot top, so you can slide the floral bouquet into the boot top. Yet, if you want to use just the boot alone, the slit does not deter from the design. I love the great attention to detail! Here is a look at the complete set-

To create my card, I started by stamping my images in Intense Black ink. The images were colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. The boot and flowers were mounted with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. At first I thought I would just put the images onto a white card base…but the card seemed to be severely lacking. Instead, I took a white panel and die cut it with a stitched circle design. The edges were shaded with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The panel was splattered with a Toffee Shimmer Brush for additional interest. I have always been splatter impaired. Shimmer Brushes are now my go to for splatters. They come in a variety of colors and you can easily control the splatter. The control is the best part, this is something I could never do when I tried to use paint or reinkers for splatter. To add a tiny bit of bling, I went over the wheat and sentiment with the Toffee Shimmer Brush as well.
