Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #497

Wow, November already! If you have not already started Christmas cards, the clock is ticking…..the time is now! We have a fun sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week to get you started.

I have a few new products to play with and mixed many of them into this creation! I think I have guilt over not finishing my Christmas cards last year, so I seem to be shopping Christmas supplies to make up for it this year! Let’s just hope I can go from shopping to creating!

My fun cardinal and winter greenery is from the new Honeybee Stamps release. I am a huge fan of their layered dies. This cardinal is so easy to put together! I stacked a couple of layers for additional dimension. The greenery was cut with a mix of Close To My Heart cardstock, using both sides of the paper. Close To My Heart cardstock is two toned, giving you twice the mileage out of your colors! To allow for the circle element, I popped up a layered snowflake to layer onto. To finish out the project, I added a bit of white & silver shimmer splatter. The splatter effect just seems to pull all of the elements together. The mix of white and silver is perfect for a fresh falling snow look.

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

  • Christmas Blessings Stamp/Die Set-Simon Says Stamp
  • X7286S Christmas Story Paper Packet w/Sticker Sheet
  • X7286C Christmas Story Coordinating Cardstock
  • Lovely Layers Winter Birds-Honeybee Stamps
