Birthday Fan Fare Card

I made birthday cards over the weekend for a few friends’ children.  The cards are based on a sketch from sketchsupport.com.  The stars were cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.  All supplies by Close To My Heart except where noted.

B1322 Believe in your Dreams

Z2192 Pacifica Ink Pad

Z1471 Ruler

Z1114 Piercing Tool Kit

Generic Embroidery Floss

A close up of the stars cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I scored the larger star to give it more dimension.

The same card stamped with a different birthday phrase.

I am often asked about my stitching.  I love the look of the stitched lines.  I am sewing machine impaired.  It seems I can never get my corners straight with my sewing machine. I am sure practice makes perfect, but I do not seem to have the time to practice.  I purchased the Sew-Easy tools, and seem to have a similar problem with them.  Close To My Heart too my rescue!  Our new ruler has grid lines to help you keep everything straight.  The ruler is many tools in one, you can use it for measuring (of course!), stitching in a straight or zig-zag pattern, it also features a metal straight edge for cutting!  It is my new go too tool.  All of the details are hard to view in the catalog, so I enlarged a photo here for you to view.
