Cardz 4 Galz Challenge #194

I am excited to announce that I have joined the design team at Card 4 Galz! Our current challenge is to use vellum on your card. Daffodils have always been the first sign of Spring for me. Sadly, I have 4-6 feet of snow outside my craft room and no daffodil is a match for that! I normally love the snow, but this year has been a bit much! At least I can create with blooming daffodils! My card is based on the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps.

I created my card by stamping the large daffodil image from the Best of Luck stamp by Gina K Designs in Intense Black ink. The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with Gamsol. A stitched panel die was used to crop the image. The stitched panel was then matted in black.

After cropping the panel, I stamped a second image of the daffodils and cut out the main flowers. The additional flowers were mounted onto the design with foam tape for additional dimension. My sentiment was stamped with black pigment ink on vellum and embossed in clear.

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

  • Best of Luck Stamp Set-Gina K Designs
  • Special Day Sentiment Duos-Hefty Doodle
  • 1385 White Daisy Cardstock
  • Textured Black Cardstock-American Crafts
  • Z3367 Vellum
  • Z4189 Intense Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
  • Black Pigment Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad-Retired
  • Clear Embossing Powder-Ranger
  • Prismacolor Pencils
  • Gamsol

I have also entered my card in the Easter Challenge at The Paper Players.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  2. Congratulations on the DT post Allisa! These daffodils are gorgeous and beautifully coloured and the vellum is a great way to add a sentiment without disrupting the panel behind. Thanks for playing with my Easter theme challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
