I am super excited to be a Guest Designer today over at the C.R.A.F.T Challenge blog. They are having an Anything Goes Challenge, sponsored by Sweet & Sassy stamps. Sweet & Sassy has a huge favorite of digital stamps. I was drawn to the Magnolia Block stamp. It is one of those large stamps that can totally stand alone. I slightly struggled with my color scheme. Magnolia trees are so not common in my area and a google search showed me basically the classic white and a brighter pink version. I was in need of a sympathy card and just didn’t feel the brighter pink was going to be appropriate. I first colored my flower in a very pale cream and felt it needed a bit more pop. I added a bit more color and went over the upturned edges of each petal with a clear shimmer brush. I heat embossed my sentiment and popped up the sentiment panel with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. A few clear sequins finish off the card.
