Distressed Day at the Beach

This
card ended up going a totally different direction than where I started
from!  I wanted to do a beach scene card
for the Summer challenge at The Paper Players.
My usual clean designs quickly turned into a distressed card full of
texture.  My card is loosely based on the
sketch at Unscripted Challenges.  Here is
the original sketch-

You will have to look closely to see where I followed the sketch!  For starters, I flipped the sketch.  Then I stitched in the lines for the pattern.  My stitched lines seem to blend with my background paper in the photo.  Hopefully you can see the pattern is actually there.  I did start this sketch with nice neat pieces of pattern paper…………then I decided to add in a little burlap………….which turned into a lot of burlap!  My theme started with the Summer Challenge at The Paper Players

  3. I have fallen in love with burlap! I love the texture….granted I normally use it in smaller doses! I like to pull out the individual strands and use for tying bows as well….so much more texture than regular twine.
