This
card ended up going a totally different direction than where I started
from! I wanted to do a beach scene card
for the Summer challenge at The Paper Players.
My usual clean designs quickly turned into a distressed card full of
texture. My card is loosely based on the
sketch at Unscripted Challenges. Here is
the original sketch-
You will have to look closely to see where I followed the sketch! For starters, I flipped the sketch. Then I stitched in the lines for the pattern. My stitched lines seem to blend with my background paper in the photo. Hopefully you can see the pattern is actually there. I did start this sketch with nice neat pieces of pattern paper…………then I decided to add in a little burlap………….which turned into a lot of burlap! My theme started with the Summer Challenge at The Paper Players–

I would have never thought to use the burlap on a card. This is so unique and unexpected. Great card! You always inspire me.
I have fallen in love with burlap! I love the texture….granted I normally use it in smaller doses! I like to pull out the individual strands and use for tying bows as well….so much more texture than regular twine.
Wowzers! This is fabulous! The frayed/distressed burlap absolutely rocks that great beach scene! Thanks for sharing your card with us this week at Unscripted Sketches 🙂
Allisa, you might have been planning a clean and simple, but the burlap and distressing are just so perfect for your focal image. Fabulous card. So glad you were able to join us again this week at the Paper Players
