Time
for the Black Tie event at Dynamic Duos! The challenge this week is to create a project with River Rock & Black. The dessert option is to add brads to your project. Remember you do not have to use Stampin Up colors, they are given as a guideline, you can use similar colors that you have in your stash. I chose Bamboo and Black by Close To My Heart.
My
card
is a mix of old and new products. I had a really old paper pack from
Close To My Heart, which had the perfect colors. The paper, Game On,
is from 2008, so it has been in my stash a long time!
The bow is actually made from paper. It is cut with the bow die by Lil Inkers Designs. It was one of those love at first sight dies. I went over the stitching with a black pen to match my design.
I made my rosette out of the same paper as the bow. I added black stitching to keep a uniform look. I cut my paper strip at 3/4″ x 12″ to create my rosette. I scored the paper every 1/4″. When you are making rosettes, the wider your strip of paper, the larger in diameter your rosette will be. The greater distance between your score lines, will result in a thicker rosette. I went with the 1/4″ score lines to get the pleated rosette look without having the bulk of a thicker rosette.
I left the inside blank for now, to add a sentiment of leave more room for a handwritten note at a later date. My card is based on the sketch this week at Mojo Monday–
