Florentine Birthday Card

Stepping out of my comfort zone for the sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  I can count on one hand the number of cards I have made in this size!  I seem to stick to A2 and square cards.  This card measures 3 ¾” x 8 ½”.  The nice thing about this size of card is that they will fit into a standard number 10 envelope. I think everyone has that size of envelope around the house!  I used a wide variety of products on this card.  It has been a stressful day, and playing with ink and paper is my stress reliever.  Supplies by Close To My Heart except where noted:

X7153B Florentine Paper Packet

1245 Olive Cardstock

X5642 Cocoa Cardstock

Z2114 Cocoa Ink

D1477 Universal Backgrounds

D1283 Say It In Style

D1475 Card Chatter-Birthday

Z1333 Mocha Opaques Adhesive Gems

Designer Label Die by Clear Dollar Stamps

Swirl Cuttlebug Embossing Folder by PC

Lace Ribbon by Really Reasonable Ribbon

Antique Linen Distress Stain by Tim Holtz

Peeled Paint Distress Stain by Tim Holtz

Generic Embroidery Thread

Special Thanks to Really Reasonable Ribbon-I won the Winter White  Ribbon Pack in their blog hop. Finally breaking open the package.  I dyed the lace ribbon with the Distress Inks by Tim Holtz.  I just kept adding ink until I felt the lace matched the card.  I added brown stitching onto the lace ribbon to tie it into the cocoa cardstock.

Design Tip-The script saying on the Vanilla Cream cardstock was stamped with third generation Cocoa Ink.
