Two of my favorite crafting items….woodgrain paper and burlap! This might be my first attempt at combining the two! Obviously a thank you card with a little bit of rustic flair. My card is based on the sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches–
Design Tip-My doily was created by cutting burlap with a die cut. I first place the die on the burlap as any other die cut and run in through my die machine. I then leave everything in place and add a cardstock shim and run through again. Call me paranoid…but running everything at once just seems to be more than my die machine can handle….and I would hate to break a plate. By running the shim on the next run, you give the die a chance to be embedded into the burlap and the extra shim insures that you get a smooth cut all the way through the fabric.
