Freshly Made Sketches #476

I so love the March Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece. The images that are included are stunning! My card took a turn from my original thought.  I originally was using a rainbow zip strip for my strips and I colored my butterfly to match the colors in my rainbow strip.  Once complete though, I felt like I had too much going on.  I swapped out the rainbow strips for black cardstock and love the end result!  My card is based on the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Here is the original sketch design-

My card is really super simple and easy to re-create.  I started by stamping my butterfly in Intense Black ink and coloring with Copics.  I then fussy cut the image.  After fussy cutting, I scored along the body of the butterfly.  By adding score lines, you can easily lift the wings for “flight”.  I adhered three strips of black cardstock onto a white card base, which was die cut with a stitched panel die. To mount my butterfly, I applied Liquid Glass adhesive on the body only.  I recommend a strong adhesive for this technique to make sure your butterfly stays in place. My sentiment was stamped in Intense Black ink as well.

The March Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece, is only available to purchase during the month of March.  The set retires as of March 31, 2021.  You can add this set to a qualifying order for only $5!  VIP members can earn the set for FREE.  You can find out all the details here.  Here is a look at the complete set-
