Freshly Made Sketches #71

Linda has created a great sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  I cut out a fancy tag shape from the Cricut Artiste cartridge and paired it with a single rose from the January Stamp of the Month, Happy Valentine’s.  We have a great mix of cards this week by the Design Team, be sure and stop by and see the other creations!  Here is a look at the original sketch-

My papers are from the new For Always paper line by Close To My Heart.  This is a new series of black and white patterns that you can easily pair with any color of your choice.  I paired mine with Smokey Plum.  The black and white script on my tag is a pattern paper from the line, which I have overstamped with second generation Smokey Plum ink. I stamped the Smitten stamp, for the fun swirls.  I selectively cut out a single rose and mounted on pop dots for added dimension.  My flower is colored with a blending pen and my ink pads.

I finished out the inside with my customary style…a strip of pattern paper and a simple saying.

The trio of roses is a large stamp, I selectively cut out a single rose for my card above.  The whole trio measures about 4″ x 3″ to give you an idea of the sizing.  While the stamp set comes with Valentine’s sentiments, the flowers can easily be used for any occasion.  You can view the details on the stamp set here.
