I have finally created a card! Life has been a struggle. I have experienced such profound losses since 2023, that it is only fitting that my first creation in many months is a sympathy card. I am obviously not alone in experiencing great loss. I am not one for New Year’s resolutions….my only thought is I need to get back to the things that bring me joy. Crafting has always brought me joy and somehow I have to manage to get my craft room in order to be able to create again. It is a work in progress. While I have not been able to create, I have been doing my part in supporting our crafting community by adding to cart! My card is based on the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

My card starts off with a card base from the May 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Mountain Majesties. I greatly appreciate the card bases being printed front and back…..because I always cut them apart and make two cards! This is a super easy way to stretch your kit contents. I popped up some layers with foam tape for added dimension.

My card base and layers were die cut with a stitched rectangle frame for additional details. A die cut frame was added to follow the sketch design, which was popped up with foam tape as well. A few stamped birds and layered sentiment panel complete the card.

The inside was completed with a Insiders Panel from Taylored Expressions. I seem to be lacking in the sympathy sentiments stamp sets, so these were a great find in my craft stash!

Welcome back! Lovely to see you crafting again, especially with such a beautiful card.
That is an absolutely awesome card. I love it!
Spectacular card! Great come back from your hiatus, sorry you’ve had a rough go. But glad that you can find joy in the little things. I liked this masculine kit as well. Thank you for playing with the MASCULINE themed project with the Krafty Chicks Challenge.

Allisa, I love your card. You’ve done a great job with this. Sometimes sympathy cards can be difficult to make, but this is a perfect mix of a great card with lots of interest without being too cheery. I also noticed that you’re from Wyoming. I was blessed to visit there a few years back and loved it. We went to a bison ranch and took a train ride out. You have a gorgeous state! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. And from all of us, we hope you have a very safe and wonderful new year.
