Freshly Made Sketches #96

Amy has a cute sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  I could not resist the urge to flip the sketch!  While my original idea was going to use a an actual tag, I ended up going with a tad more elegant design.  I was determined to ink up my new poppy stamp set and let the rest of my card come together around my image.  After finally re-organizing my Copics, I decided I needed to actually use them as well.  The only way I am ever going to perfect using them is to practice, practice, practice!

While I have been collecting Copics for a couple of years now, I have probably only colored a couple of dozen images.  I am amazed at the artwork some of the cardmakers out there create with them.  Let’s just say when I grow up, I want to be able to color like they do!

I added a few layers to the inside as well, love the added pop of black.

  1. Poppies are my favorite flower. I love the way you flipped the sketch. And the CAS version of the card is perfect.

  2. Beautiful Allisa! Well done coloring the poppy – I always find that reds are some of the hardest colors to do!
