Glittery Flakey Friends!

I am loving the new glitter papers by Close To My Heart, they will be available in six colors in the Spring/Summer Idea Book!  The glitter paper is Cricut compatibility.  Making shaped cards with a glitter base is easy peasy with the Cricut cartridges!  I have combined my card for two challenges.  Heart 2 Heart Challenges is having an All that Glitters challenge this week.  Merry Mondayis mixing things up with a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

I went with the top row, Blue, Dry Embossing and Snow.  I finally managed to get my hands on the Falling Snow Embossing Folder by Sizzix.  I couldn’t wait to try it out.  My friend Kim, at Joyful Creations, previously posted about getting different looks with your embossing folders by using the tan embossing mats.  When I first read her post…..I was not sure I was ready to start cutting into my mats.  Fast forward a few months…..and just how many times have I used those mats……NONE!  So what harm could come in cutting one up!  While Kim gives directions in her post….I must have been having a duh! moment…because it took me three tries to get the hang of it!  While I am sure it is just me, I have taken a pic to show you my Cuttlebug sandwhich.

Thanks so much for the inspiration Kim.  I am sure you will be seeing me cutting up more mats in the near future!

  4. I have to tell you that I have actually purchased more mats to cut each slightly differently. Be careful…it's easy to get carried away!!!
