Glittery Flakey Friends!

I am loving the new glitter papers by Close To My Heart, they will be available in six colors in the Spring/Summer Idea Book!  The glitter paper is Cricut compatibility.  Making shaped cards with a glitter base is easy peasy with the Cricut cartridges!  I have combined my card for two challenges.  Heart 2 Heart Challenges is having an All that Glitters challenge this week.  Merry Mondayis mixing things up with a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

I went with the top row, Blue, Dry Embossing and Snow.  I finally managed to get my hands on the Falling Snow Embossing Folder by Sizzix.  I couldn’t wait to try it out.  My friend Kim, at Joyful Creations, previously posted about getting different looks with your embossing folders by using the tan embossing mats.  When I first read her post…..I was not sure I was ready to start cutting into my mats.  Fast forward a few months…..and just how many times have I used those mats……NONE!  So what harm could come in cutting one up!  While Kim gives directions in her post….I must have been having a duh! moment…because it took me three tries to get the hang of it!  While I am sure it is just me, I have taken a pic to show you my Cuttlebug sandwhich.

Thanks so much for the inspiration Kim.  I am sure you will be seeing me cutting up more mats in the near future!

  1. Such a fun card, Allisa! Love your little snowman! Love the falling snow and glitter paper too! Great job with both challenges!

  2. I'm glad you found one of those embossing folders and thanks for showing how to cut the pad for partial embossing! A delightful finishe for a cute snowman! Love the round card too!

  3. Your card is adorable, Allisa! Thank you so much for the photo of your sandwich. You can't believe how helpful that was, in addition to Kim's post. You guys are great teachers!!

  4. I have to tell you that I have actually purchased more mats to cut each slightly differently. Be careful…it's easy to get carried away!!!

  5. Love it! This is totally gorgeous and I love the embossed snow effect! Just in case you haven't thought about a home for this gorgeous card at Xmas time – I'm putting up my hand for this one now! (just kidding!)
