We are having a tropical theme challenge this week at H2H. Considering I live far from the tropics…..tropical stamps are not big in my collection. I decided to bring on the sunshine for my tropical theme! My card was created with just inks and papers. The varied patterns add plenty of texture, while still leaving the card flat for easy mailing.
My sun rays were stamped with the Patterned Pennants stamp set. I alternated the colors with Honey and Goldrush. For my sun, I layered Honey and Goldrush circles. To give my sun texture, I randomly stamped a background stamp from the Universal BackgroundsStamp set. I stamped randomly and with varying pressures to get the mottled look. There is no right or wrong way, just keep stamping until you get the look you like.
I inked my sentiment in black pigment ink and clear embossed. The clear embossing gives it an extra pop against the colored background. For the inside, I added a couple of rays along the bottom to dress up the card.
