Inspire. Create. Challenge #050

I had a recent request for a sports themed birthday card….so I dug deep into the stash to come up with sports related items.  The reason I love hand made cards…you can make them to fit your needs! I created my card based on the sketch challenge at Inspire. Create. Stamping Challenges

I let the pattern papers from the Work Hard, Play Hard series by Carta Bella do most of the work.  I have a long retired All Star stamp set by Close To My Heart that helped finish off the card. I inked up my ball player and stamped him directly onto pattern paper as well.  I stamped my own background on the gray panel.

My sports theme was carried over to the inside of the card as well.  I created this card with bits and pieces from the scrap drawer.  The inside panel is an off white flecked cardstock….no clue where it originated from!  I wanted to stay away from bright white as my card is created with more muted colors.

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

D1256 All Star (Sports related stamps)-Retired

D1475 Card Chatter Birthday (inside sentiment)-Retired

Best Ever Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp

Outdoor Denim Cardstock-Retired

Work Hard Play Hard Paper Pad by Carta Bella

Z2832 Petwer Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad

Z2140 Outdoor Denim Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad-Retired

Autumn Enamel Dots by Carta Bella

Gray Cardstock-Unknown

Flecked Cardstock-Unknown

Circle Dies-MFT

I have also entered my card in the following challenges:

Seize the Birthday-Anything Goes

Simon Says Wednesday-Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Don’t forget….the current Close To My Heart catalog retires August 31…only ONE more day to get your favorites before they retire.  You can see the retiring items here!
