Introducing DAKOTA!

Hello everyone, meet Dakota!  Dakota is one of the newest lines of paper offered by Close To My Heart in the upcoming Fall/Winter 2012 Idea Book.  I am on total overload from all of the new products.  I have been with Close To My Heart for over fifteen years and I think this just might be the best Idea Book ever!  My card is based on the sketch this week at Retro Sketches.  Here is the original sketch design-

The shapes on my card were cut with the Cricut Art Philosophycartridge as well as the NEW upcoming Cricut Artiste Collection. If you would like to take a peek at all of the images on the Artiste catalog, you can view them here.  Fingers crossed that I will have some craft time open up soon to try some of the cool 3-D projects!

Design Tips-My stars were cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  I then stamped the coordinating image from the Dakota Workshops On the Go stamp set.  I flipped the image over and ran a score line down the center of the stars.  Turned my star back over and folded along all the score lines to give my star dimension.  I applied the stars with a couple of layers of foam tape to keep the raised edges.  My ovals were cut with the Cricut Artiste collection and stamped with the coordinating image from the Casual Expressions Stamp Set.
