Krafty Chicks Anything Goes Challenge

Belated Christmas wishes to everyone! I had the joy of spending Christmas at the airport! Big thumbs down to Southwest Airlines….do not recommend! I went with cheap flights and it was certainly one of those times that you get what you pay for….in this case a day of hassle and ZERO customer service. Other airlines seems to be landing and taking off with no issues. Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand a flight being canceled. My problem was the total lack of customer service provided by Southwest. If you have a problem, don’t count on them being there for you. Next time I will pay more with another airlines and hopefully get to where I am actually going. Anyways, off my soap box and back to the cuteness at hand……my adorable puppers! I love these guys and could not resist making them the star of my holiday cards. A local photographer does a fundraiser for our Human Society each year and the results are amazing! Total cuteness overload! If you want to browse some major cuteness, you can view her page here.

My cards are super simple to recreate. I used the Rectangle Shaker Foam & Acetate Sheets to turn the photos into shaker cards. A few gold stars make the cards super festive and how can you resist a shaker card? You can easily plan for next years cards or make photo shaker cards for any occasion. I trimmed a standard 4×6 photo down to 5 x 5 1/4″ and the shaker foam fits perfectly. A stitched rectangle frame covers up the foam details, giving the stars plenty of room. I later ran out of foam tape, and made the same card in a flat shaker, but using page protectors in place of the acetate adhered directly to the photo for a very similar effect.

  1. Oh sorry to hear about the flight, that isn’t great, and the news had so many upset travelers from lots of areas/airlines…Ugh, I hope the next trip you go on will be much smoother. This is a wonderful card, I like that it is a shaker but mostly those proud-looking pups! Reminds me of the guard dogs at the prison camps when I was a kid, no I wasn’t in them, my Dad was a guard. The dogs were so regal and love them. Thank you for being with us this month, love the creativity you have with your cards, and I look forward to seeing them in 2023! Have a great day!

    Hugs, L

  2. What a great photo of your puppets! That is one amazing photographer! And you matched the reds perfectly. I’ve never dealt with Southwest airline but Air Canada’s customer service over the phone isn’t great. Never had issues in person though so I’m sticking with them. Here’s hoping your bad luck is over and that the new year is so much better! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with the Krafty Chicks this month, it’s been a pleasure seeing your creations. Can’t wait to see what 2023 brings! Happy new year!

  4. Wonderful photo of your pups.Thank you for joining us for our last challenge at Heart 2 Heart. I feel your pain about Southwest. I spent the entire day (14 plus hours) at the airport of the 28th, plus I am still waiting for my luggage.
