Lucky to Call you Friend

Oh my goodness….I think I have a new hobby!  This is my very first attempt at an alcohol inks background.  Sad to say, I have had the supplies sitting on the shelf for years!  So glad most of our crafting supplies have a long shelf life. I keep seeing the most gorgeous cards in blogland….so I decided to give it a go!  It turned out mostly like I envisioned, so I say it is a win win! My card is based on the sketch challenge at Make the Cards

My background was created with Lettuce and Gold alcohol inks.  I used a tad bid of citrus ink in the center to have a lighter area to stamp my sentiment.  I wanted my shamrocks to coordinate with the background, yet still stand out.  I was torn between New England Ivy and Fern, so ended up using a little of both. My shamrocks were created with heart die cuts.  The stems were cut from the side of a larger heart die as well. The shamrocks were applied with 3-D foam dots for added dimension.

My sentiment is from the current Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece. This set has a variety of sentiments for many occasions.  It also features gorgeous images, which I am sure I will be working into my next alcohol ink background!  You can add this set to your collection for only $5 with a qualifying purchase in March.  You can get all the details here.  Here is a look at the complete set-
