Make the Cards Challenge #15

We have a new theme challenge this week at Make the Cards Challenge! We want to see your beach theme creations. I live very far from the beach and have very few beach themed items in my craft collection. I decided to get creative with my new found love of alcohol inks to create my own little beach.

My beach scene is created with a mix of alcohol inks by Ranger. My sand is a mix of Butterscotch and Gold. The water is a mix of Pool, Sailboat Blue and Turquoise. Other than the slight appearance of an algae bloom on the shoreline where my Butterscotch and Blue inks mixed, I love the end result. The beach scene was die cut with a stitched panel die and mounted onto my card base with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. I kept my sentiment super simple, by die cutting my hello in white three times and adhering together.

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

  • 1385 White Daisy Cardstock
  • Yupo Paper
  • Ranger Alcohol Inks-Sailboat Blue, Pool, Turquoise, Butterscotch, Gold
  • Ranger Alcohol Inks Blending Solution
  • Z3259 Hello Thin Cut-Retired
  • Stitched Panel Die-Simon Says Stamp

I have entered my card in the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope to see your beachy creations in the gallery this week at Make the Cards Challenge!

  1. OMG what a FABULOUS design using your alcohol inks! Looks like an aerial view of a beach in French Polynesia. GREAT JOB! Thanks for reminding me to use my alcohol inks that haven’t been shown any love for quite some time! Beautifully done teamie!
