Make the Cards Challenge #21

We have a new sketch challenge this week at Make the Cards Challenge! At first glance my card seems to have veered away from the sketch. It is mostly just my lack of photography skills! I have a few black on black elements that all seem to blend together in my photo….but the design elements are there….I promise! Here is the original sketch design-

My card was created with the Spellbinders June Large Die of the Month. I love the curvy circle frame that is included in the set. I cut each of my rainbow circles five times in a variety of rainbow colors. The best part is….I was able to cut all of the images with scraps of cardstock! I always feel like I have accomplished something when I actually use up my bits and pieces from previous projects!

The close up pic, shows a little more detail of the design elements that were created with black on black. While cutting the rainbow dies was slightly tedious, combining the circles was easy peasy with my favorite tweezers! My Close To My Heart tweezers are used on almost every project. The sharp point is also perfect for picking up bitty sequins and gems as well! I also use them to hold my sentiment panels while embossing…no burned fingers! If you don’t have a pair of tweezers in your collection that you absolutely love, you need these! They sell out often, but are currently available!

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

  • Z335 Little Dreamer Cardmaking Stamp/Thin Cut Bundle (Sentiment)-Retired
  • X6047 Black Cardstock
  • Variety of Colored Cardstock Scraps
  • Z5006 Tweezers
  • Z891 Versamark Ink Pad
  • Z2068 White Embossing Powder
  • June Large Die of the Month-Spellbinders

I have entered my card in the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope to see your take on the sketch in the gallery at Make the Cards Challenge!

  1. Great job on the sketch and in using up all those scraps (that we can’t bear to throw away, right?)! Thanks so much for joining us at Little Red Wagon Challenge this week!
