Make the Cards Challenge #23

Time for a new challenge at Make the Cards Challenge! We are having a sketch challenge this week! This is a super simple design that you can easily dress up or down. I went with a unique take on the Wander Cardmaking Kit. This is by far my favorite stamp set out of the new July/August catalog! Here is the original sketch design for you to play along-

My goal was to mimic a mountain sunrise. I started my card by die cutting my Sangria panel with the mountain die. I sponged on a mix of Distress Oxides inks onto a white panel and mounted it behind the mountains. My card front seemed a little plain, so I added in some texture with the great little background stamp that is included in the kit. This little treasure just might become my next favorite stamp! I did not stress about perfectly lining up the image. I basically just inked and tapped the image across my card front with Sangria ink. The tone on tone adds so much to the complete card design. I wanted my sentiment to pop, so it was heat embossed in white. The completed panel was matted in Sundance to continue the sunrise theme. Here is a close up of the great texture, that one little stamp adds to your project.
