Make the Cards Challenge #26

Time for a new challenge at Make the Cards Challenge! This week we are featuring a sketch challenge. The talented design team has cards for all occasions posted, be sure to stop by and give them some love! Here is the original design, for you to come play along-

This is a super fun week for me! Close To My Heart is having their annual convention. While it is still a virtual event, it is so fun to see all of the new, upcoming releases close up! With the exciting new releases, many of our current favorites will be retiring. Party Time is one of the collections that will be retiring. This has been a super fun paper pack for me and I love that it has a masculine and feminine side. This card was created with the paper pack and coordinating sticker sheet, no stamping required!

I started my card, by cutting the Diagonal Stripe Slimline Thin Cut in Sapphire. (This die is also retiring and only available while supplies last) I was really just after the stitched border, so I layered on Lagoon cardstock and the present background paper. My sapphire stripes are actually cut pieces from the same die. A stitched layered circle was added to match the slimline mat. I applied 3-D foam tape to the presents, confetti, banners and sentiment strip for added dimension. All of these elements are from the coordinating sticker sheet.

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

  • X8016S Party Time Paper Packet w/ Sticker Sheet
  • X8016C Party Time Coordinating Cardstock
  • 1385 White Daisy Cardstock
  • Z3908 Diagonal Stripes Slimline Thin Cuts
  • Z2060 Thin 3-D Foam Tape
  • Stitched Circle Stax-MFT

I have entered my card in the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope to see your creation in the gallery at Make the Cards Challenge!

  3. What a joyful birthday card! I love the colors but I what love most is the slimline design. You used the space expertly and the colors are perfect for any age or gender. Thank you for joining us at CMHCD.
