Make the Cards Challenge #31

Exciting times! Today is the first day of September! We have a new challenge at Make the Cards Challenge! Plus today is the new release day at Close To My Heart. We are having a 3-2-1 Challenge at Make the Cards Challenge. Your creation needs 3 colors of cardstock, 2 critters and 1 stencil. My card showcases the new Slimline Celebration Special that starts today!

My three colors of cardstock are White, Avocado and the newly released Capri. I went with fish for the two critters and a wavy stencil for a water themed background. Almost all of the elements on my card are from the Slimline Celebration Special. All items are available individually or you can save 20% when you purchase the bundle of products. This special is total cuteness overload! Here is an overview of the bundle of products-

To create my card, I started by stenciling on a wavy background with Glacier ink. I die cut the circle cluster in Capri and cut it down to give room for my “ocean floor”. The ocean floor was created with torn strips of Avocado cardstock with Avocado ink sponged on. I layered in vegetation that was colored with Copics. The fish were colored with Copics with a little shimmer added with a Clear Shimmer Brush. The die cut fish were applied with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. A few sequin bubbles finish off the card.

  1. This is such a fun card Alisa! I love the way you turned that circles die into bubbles with the addition of the fish and the sea plants. Thank you for playing with us at Tic Tac Toe this week 🙂 Vicky x

  2. Very cute card! I love how you tied in the bubbles in the background! And that fish at the top is looking like, “Put your pumpkin spice away! I’m not ready for fall!” 🙂
