Merry Monday #20

There
is a great sketch challenge this week at Merry Monday.  I know Christmas cards come as a shock to
some of you who are in the middle of summer!
The whole idea is to create one Christmas card a week during the year….then
you will have an assortment of cards ready for the holiday season. I also get to spend more attention to detail doing one card at a time, vs. producing cards in bulk.  Here is the original sketch design-

I added a ton of texture to this card…most of which is not really noticeable in pictures.  I used two embossing folders.  The white background with blue dots is actually white cardstock embossed with a Dots folder and then I colored each dot with a Copic Sketch. I mimicked a fireplace by attaching my stocking to cardstock embossed with a brick pattern.

 I
added fun flock to my stocking top and bling to the snowflake pattern. I “tied” the stocking on with mini rick rack.

My stocking was cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  The cartridge includes the base stocking as well as layers to add on top.  I only added the top layer as I wanted to show more of my snowflake pattern.

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

Z1686 Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge

S1110 Holiday Magic Stamp Set

Sentimental About Christmas Stamps by MFT
