Mojo Monday #509 Sketch Challenge

I have had big crafty plans…..all week long!  I had anticipated that I would be posting this card on Monday, as in last Monday….not sneaking it in on Sunday night just before the challenge closes!  Sadly, that was not the case.  Living in the land of negative temps, my water pipes decided they had, had enough!  No polar vortex here, we live day to day in negative temps.  I think the high winds finally got me.  While the pipes freezing is bad enough….you guessed it…they broke as well!  The highlight of this journey is, no water made it to my craft room.  The low would be…..a large portion of the house was subject to water damage! I finally decided to take a break and disappear to the craft room….oh so peaceful! I was glad to see that I still had some time to get in on the Mojo Monday challenge over at Poetic Artistry. By the time you read this, I am sure this challenge will be closed…but a new one will be opening in just a few short hours!

I just received my Mix In paper packet from Close To My Heart.  While flipping through the papers, I feel in love with Mint!  Who knew….I am really not a pastel person….but Mint, it really drew me in!  I am still loving my Budding Peony stamp set, as it has never left my desk and a Mint themed card was born.  Instead of my usual bright colors, I decided to pair Mint and Peach.  Why Peach, because the ink pad was right next to Mint and they looked lovely together! The Mix In paper pack is full of fun versatile patterns!  If you have yet to check it out, you should give it a closer look.

My original plan was to watercolor with Mint and Peach.  This did not goes as planned….while they are lovely pastels…adding water makes them way too light for my liking.  I pulled out my Copic color chart and decided on a few close matches to color my peony image.

A tiny bit of bling and silver thread finished off my card!

This is such a sweet creation and I love the pretty colors together and the bling at the bottom too. It's a great layout and really suits that gorgeous flower.
