We have been a little under the weather at my house, so my crafting time has been minimal. I think we are all finally on the mend and I made it back just in time to create a birthday card for a family friend! My card was created with the June Stamp of the Month, It’s Your Day to Sparkle! This stamp set is perfect for so many occasions. I swear I could taste the frosting as I added in a bit of color to my image. It certainly left me longing for birthday cake! Here is a look at the complete set-
This card has quite a bit going on…after weeks without crafting, it seems I wanted to add in a little bit of everything! I just kept adding in different textures until it all worked for me. I colored my cake with Prismacolor pencils and then blended them out with Gamsol. Once dry, I then masked off the cake tray and sprayed a shimmer mist over the cake image. By now, I was seriously wanting a piece of cake! The recipient is turning 17, so I stamped out the 17 in sage ink and fussy cut them for the top of the cake. Here is a close up of the shimmer-
My card is based on the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge at Poetic Artistry. I have always been a huge fan of Mojo Monday! You should come join in on the fun! Julee’s sketch’s are super awesome…and they even come with measurements! Here is the original sketch design, I subbed in my cake image for the circle shape.
