My Peeps Easter Card

I
knew I had to have the “My Peeps” stamp set the moment it was released in the
new catalog.  It has been sitting in my
craft room just waiting for ink!  I
figure it is now or never if I am going to get Easter cards stamped!  The card is based on the sketch this week at
Mojo Monday.  The challenge this week is
your choice of round or square.  I really
enjoyed the last round card I did, so I decided to try my hand at another.  Here is the original sketch-

Don’t get too attached to the paper that the
card is made with!  I attended the
American Crafts warehouse sale in Utah last year and picked it up for $1 a
pack!  WooHoo, who can beat paper packs
for $1.00.   The paper was meant to be a baby kit, but I thought
the muted pastel colors worked perfect for an Easter Card.  All shapes with the exception of the grass have been cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

I
encourage everyone to think outside of the box with their crafting
supplies.  I made my cloud background
with a scallop border die.  My grass is
actually an icicle border turned upside down.

Did
you know you can manipulate the Close To My Heart stamps to a different shape?  I transformed the wavy Happy Easter saying to
a curved saying for my circle.  I then selectively
inked the saying to make it two parts!  I
combined three colors of twine to bring all of the colors in the card together.  I paper pieced the eggs in the same paper and added details with a white gel pen.
