Papercraft Star Challenge #137

Spring is in the air, if only for a brief moment before winter sets back in!  We are having a Bird challenge this week at Papercraft Star.  Perfect for your spring cards.  I love the colors in the inspiration photo.  While I was originally thinking pink….my card took a different turn.  Good thing the inspiration photo is use if you choose.

I don’t think I have ever seen a green and blue bird in person…other than possibly a parrot.  I did google bird images though and it appears there are green birds out there with a touch of blue.  So, I was able to make a perfectly coordinating flying bird that is not totally a figment of my imagination!  I popped my bird up on a sponged cloud background.  Have you tried making your own cloud backgrounds?  They are super easy to create and I love the soft background.  For mine, I used a scallop border punch and sponged lightly resulting in a cloud background.  I just keep moving the scallop border die down the page to get the size of clouds I am seeking.

My card is based on the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  A great sketch that I am sure I will use again in the future.

I added a little detail to the inside of my card as well.  I left the inside blank to use as a notecard in the future.  If you look closely you can see where I stamped the same bird image in a very light tone.  While it does not show up well in the photo, it will provide a great background for a handwritten sentiment.
