Poppies Sympathy Card

My crafting time has been minimal.  For some reason, I could have sworn the start of school would result in more crafting time…this has not been the case! Sadly I have gotten to the point to where crafting time is a must…as I am out of Sympathy cards.  I really try and keep sympathy cards made up ahead of time…as you always need them at a moment’s notice.

I went with a CAS design to keep it simple.  My background is stamped with the retired Pleasant Poppies stamp set in black pigment ink and heat embossed in clear ink.  I then colored the images with Prismacolor pencils.  Since I have started over in rebuilding my craft room, sentiments are in short supply.  If you do not have the sentiments or sayings needed for your card….a word processing program is your friend.  I sized a text box to the size needed for my card, typed in my words and resized as needed.  I then die cut an applied to my card with foam tape for added dimension.

My card is based on the Color Challenge this week at Color Throwdown…there is a wee bit of yellow in my flower centers.  🙂

  1. What a lovely sympathy card, Allisa. The poppies are beautifully coloured and that black edged banner with the sentiment adds a great deal of elegance. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
