Seize the Birthday #11

While I have yet to decide if I like this card…..I did accomplish a couple of goals in making it.  For starters I inked up the Wild Wild West stamp set that has been sitting on my desk since it was released.  Secondly I managed to get my card entered into the Seize the Birthday Challenge before it closed!  Here is the original sketch-

I was determined to ink up this stamp set.  I pulled out my watercolor pencils and proceeded to color my scene.  I then trimmed it down.  As a tip, one should really measure before they just start cutting their image down to a size!  In the end my image was too small for a standard card!  It might not look like it…but I spent quite a bit of time working on the sky background!  I was determined to make my panel work.  I decided to go with a tall card that will fit into a #10 envelope.  My image was still a tad bit small (really should measure before you cut!).  This is where the rope trim comes into play!  If I were to do it over, I would just redo my image and measure the next time!  I do like the inside of the card!

  6. I think you have cut it to the right size as it looks like you have used the a third layout – one 1/3 blank, one 1/3 main image, 1/3 blank! I also love the twine around the frame, beautifully coloured image too.
