Sending a Smile…

So in love with the Sunflower Sympathy Stamp Set! Those gorgeous blooms are sure to make you smile.  I soo adored my little burlap tag on my last card, that I decided to supersize it for a sunflower card!  Ahhh, the beauty of a Cricut, you can make your dies any size or shape you want!  My scalloped tag is from the Cricut Art Philosophy Collection by Close To My Heart.  Art Philosophy is the first Cricut Collection that Close To My Heart came out with years ago….still my favorite!  I am so glad it has been brought back in digital form.  If you missed it back in the day of actual cartridges, you are in luck!  All of the Cricut Collections have made a comeback in digital form!  The growing pains of changing technology!  I too have had to finally set by Cricut Expressions aside and move on to the Maker.  So far, I am loving the rotary blade!  It cuts burlap soooo smooth! You can find all of the Cricut Collections through my affiliate link.

My sunflower is yet another sample that I did not think was card worthy!  A few touch-ups and it found it’s place.  I just can’t bare to throw one away! If you want more details on the sunflower coloring, I have listed the steps here.  My leaves for this one are stamped with Intense Black Ink onto New England Ivy Cardstock, with a few highlights added with Copic YG95.  Just in case you have yet to see the set, here is a pic of the complete set-

My sentiment is from the September Stamp of the Month, Random Act of Cardness.  I love the great mix of fonts and sentiments in this set!  The set is only available in the month of September and can be added to a qualifying order for only $5!  Here is look at the full set-

Design Tip: Adhesive is key when working with heavier materials such as burlap.  A tap runner is just not going to hold long term.  Will it hold for the immediate use, yes…but not much longer.  I adhere my burlap and items to my burlap with Liquid Glass adhesive.  Obviously a liquid, which helps get into the seams of the burlap and form a strong bond.  It dries clear and super strong.
