A mix of old and new…..Paper Bird & Bashful. It’s possible you might have missed the re-release of Paper Bird. Paper Bird was brought back just for Stampaganza, the Buy 2, Get 1 Free Stamp Sale. The sale ends on July 31….and Paper Bird will go back into retirement. Bashful is the new color of the year and will be released on 8/1/17.
Here is a look at all of the images included with Paper Bird-
While I love the sentiments included with the set…I am way behind on Thank you cards….so I went with an upcoming Thank You stamp for my sentiment. The Thank You actually comes preformed in a curve. The beauty of acrylic stamps is you can easily change their shape on your acrylic block or stamping platform. You can make a straight sentiment curved or the reverse as I have done here.
My card is based on the sketch challenge this week at Your Next Stamp. While I have yet to add any of YNS designs to my collection, there are several on my wish list!
Design Tip-My bird image is actually a couple of layers for added dimension. I
first stamped my bird on my white panel with Cocoa ink. I then stamped
the image again on Bashful cardstock and fussy cut the image out. I
then stamped just the wing part again on Bashful and added to my
layers. I grounded my bird by adding some burlap twine for added
texture.
