The
challenge this week at CAS-ual Fridays is Splish Splash! I happened to be up in the wee hours when the challenge was first posted. The minute I saw the post…I knew which stamp set I wanted to use. The duck is from a retired Close To My Heart stamp set, Makin Waves. I have always loved the images in this stamp set….but sadly they had never seen ink. Regardless of never seeing ink, they had earned themselves a spot in the keep pile! Around 2am, I managed to get my image colored, mostly to my liking. At this point, I am thinking I should really get to bed, so I can manage to get up in a few hours to go to the office. Something about that day job that really cuts into my crafting time. My little card was yet to be finished……a few hours later, I grab a couple of supplies and head to the office. (Looking back, I needed more than a couple of supplies!) Let me tell you, this card was finished old school! We are talking dull office scissors and a ruler! Do you think I remembered to put scissors or a paper trimmer in my box??? Fortunately I remembered the adhesive, or I would have had to assemble with tape! I missed out on the square challenge last week, so I was determined to get my entry in for this weeks challenge. Getting the card completed just turned out to be a little more challenging than I anticipated!
So
once, I had the card completed, you would think the hard part was over! Wrong, on so many accounts! For starters, ever tried to take a decent pic of a white card under office lighting, with an old office camera? No lightbox, no backgrounds. I am still determined though. A little copy paper placed around the card blocked out most of the distractions. No photo editing at the office either…thank goodness for picmonkey! I hope you enjoy the cute little duck, it turned out to be quite a feat to get him here!
