Wow, March 1! So hard to believe we are in a new month! Exciting things are happening today at Close To My Heart! We have a new catalog release today! Loads of fun new products! I couldn’t wait to break out the new products for the theme challenge this week at The Paper Players! Anne Marie has chosen heat embossing as the theme! I am a huge fan of heat embossing! Heat embossing is actually what brought me to card making. I started my papercrafting journey as a scrapbooker. I became intrigued by the shiny raised images of heat embossing. I embarked on a journey to make my first Christmas cards. The rest is history. I was hooked! That was over twenty years ago, and heat embossing is still one of my favorite techniques!
My card is created with the brand new, super cute Happy Easter Bunny stamp set. Who doesn’t love bunnies? My papers are from the new Mix In paper packet. The Mix In paper packs, feature 12 patterns. They are a fun mix of papers that coordinate perfectly with Close To My Heart cardstock. To create my card, I inked up my bunny in Versamark ink and then heat embossed in silver embossing powder. I added just a touch of color with Copic markers. I fussy cut the bunny and applied to my stitched circle dies with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. My sentiment is also heat embossed in silver. I finished off the card with a Baker’s Twine bow and a few silver sequins.
My card is based on the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch. I have missed out on the last couple of sketch challenges, so I was determined to get this one completed! Here is the original sketch design-

Allisa – this is so cute! Love that bunny image – and the paper is wonderful! That design reminds me of the spirograph images we made when I was a kid! Beautiful! 🙂

So pretty Allisa! Love the silver embossed detail and your fussy cutting on that bunny is perfect. That background paper pairs so perfectly, too. Such a beautiful card, all around!
Allisa your heat embossed bunny is adorable and I love the background you used too. Your bunny reminds me of the bunny in the original drawings of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. A classic!
What a beautiful Easter card, Allisa! I love these colors…and this awesome bunny image!
Allisa, this is gorgeous. I love the colors and that wonderful little Easter bunny. I agree with Joanne, it really does have a vintage feel to it and I LOVE it.
