The Paper Players #489

It is Theme Challenge week at The Paper Players! Joanne is the hostess this week and wants to see cards that Make You Smile.  The You’re Not Old stamp set has always made me smile, so that was my go to for today’s card.

I kept my card on the CAS side.  I stamped my image in Intense Black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with Gamsol.  And, yes….my little lady does have purple hair.  Way back in grade school, I had a history teacher that tinted her hair to match her outfits!  I always preferred the purple hair!  While her hair was often the topic of conversation, that was the end of the fond memories.  My mother had the same teacher when she went to school and they were not friends.  It seems a generation later, the teacher still held a grudge!  The joys of growing up in a small town!  Here is a look at the complete stamp set, in case you missed it when it first came out-

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

  1. LOL, your little old lady looks like my geography teacher in 7th grade….no purple hair though! Funny, though, my dad had her too….she was ancient! She hung in there! Your coloring is bright and cheerful, makes your CAS card really pop!

  8. Your card is hilarious and that is about how I feel when my birthday rolls around! Your coloring is perfect, and the sentiment is spot on! I can relate to your teacher story. I had teachers that taught my Daddy and my sister. I grew up on a farm in Indiana. Stay well!

  10. What a great card, Allisa! I especially LOVE the purple hair. What's funny is that I was just telling my husband last night that because of the pandemic, and my hair returning to its natural color, maybe I should just tint the gray purple! lol Speaking of coloring, your coloring on this card is perfect, and I like the colors you chose. This is such a fun little image, and it certainly brought a smile to my face!
