Claire is hosting a color challenge this week at The Paper Players! My card totally took a different turn that what I intended! My original plan was for a one layer Mother’s Day card…as you can tell we are far from that! All was well…only needed to add my sentiment directly to the panel. Since it was basically an all white card, I cleaned the Misti prior to adhering my stamp. I wanted to make sure I did not end up with a stray ink mark. (Insert drumroll here….) No worries about stray ink marks….but it appears the Misti was not totally dry and my sentiment totally moved! I was bummed, but just decided to change gears! I still loved my tulip, so I die cut the image with a stitched rectangle die and added an extra layer to my card. A sympathy card just seemed more fitting, as I was so bummed about my mishap! Here are the colors for you to play along with-
To create my card, I inked my tulip in black pigment ink and heat embossed in clear. I added in color with Kuretake watercolors. Considering my sentiment mishap….I did not want to end up losing my tulip over my haphazard splatters…so I went with a more controlled splatter by using Nuvo Crystal Drops. My sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in white.

Allisa, you are so right about cards with so much white… the slightest blot of anything shows up! You rescued your fabulous image though and I love the layering of white on white. Gorgeous card
