The Paper Players #496

Time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  Joanne is hosting a Clean and Simple Thank you challenge.  What do we mean by Clean and Simple? Minimal layers and embellishments with lots of white space.  I went with a sea themed thank you card…as I had new stamps that had yet to see ink!  I created my card with the From the Deep Blue stamp set, with coordinating Thin Cuts!

I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this stamp set! I so love realistic stamp images.  Nothing against the cutesy stamps…..but realistic stamps are much more my style. This set is available with or without Thin Cuts.  While I love a little fussy cutting…check out those gorgeous ripples you get with the Thin Cut dies.

To create my card, I started with a stitched die cut panel of White Daisy cardstock. I stamped my sea background in Mint ink.  Yes, I said stamped!  While I so love the look of carefree backgrounds….I seem to be lacking in the ability to create them.  I am just never happy with the results.  Background stamps to the rescue….Strokes of an Artist is the perfect set if you have the same struggles!

I used the stamp in the top left to create my sea background. After stamping the first image, I flipped the stamp and inked again to give me a larger area.  I then stamped my coral and sentiment in Smoothie ink.  My seahorse was stamped in Lagoon ink and cut with the coordinating Thin Cut. I added a touch of color to the coral and seahorse with Copics.  The seahorse is mounted with foam tape for more dimension.  A few clear sequins finish off the card.
