The Paper Players #507

Welcome to September and cooler temps! We have already had a couple of freezes in the mountains, winter will be here soon! I so love the crisp evenings of Fall, but they are very short lived in Wyoming.  Our Fall only seems to last a few weeks before we are in the dead of winter! We are having a new challenge this week at The Paper Players, we want to see your masculine birthday cards!

Living out west, we have a ton of wildlife…so the majority of my masculine makes feature wildlife is some form!  The Wild and Free stamp set is perfect for creating masculine projects.  This set is retired, but is still available to purchase in the Online Only section of my store.  You can purchase the set with or without Thin Cuts dies.

Nothing goes better with wildlife than wood grain and burlap!  Close To My Heart just released an awesome collection of wood grain papers.  The Wood Grain paper pack features 12 sheets of 12×12 paper, 2 sheets each of six double sided designs.  Here is a look at the complete pack-

To create my card, I stamped my elk image in Intense Black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I blended the pencils out with Gamsol.  I then die cut my image and applied 3-D foam tape to the back for added dimension.  I used a mix of toffee, wood grain, burlap and black for my card base. A few negatives from a wooden arrow finish off the card.
