The Paper Players #511

Happy Fall! Time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  Claire is hosting a Theme Challenge this week, we want to see your creations with Fall Critters.  While I collect many stamps…the horse category is  my favorite.  Horses have even managed to get their very own stamp drawer!  This cute little stamp is by CD Stamps, which sadly is no longer in business. They had a complete line of these horse stamps, affectionately named Charlie. I have had this stamp for many years, but this is the first time it is seeing ink!  My card is based on the sketch challenge at The Spot Challenges

To create my card, I inked up my horse stamp in Intense Black ink and then added color with Prismacolor pencils.  To achieve the fall leaves look, I seriously just scribbled on various colors and then blended them out with Gamsol.  I started out coloring each individual leaf and was not getting the desired results.  Scribbling was much more fun and gave the leaves more of a natural look! I matted the oval in Saffron and Paprika cardstock. In keeping with the fall theme, I added a bit of burlap.  For added texture, I embossed my panel with the Wood Panel embossing folder. The sentiment was popped up with 3-D foam tape.

  10. Allisa, this card brought back a memory that had long been relegated to the backwaters of my mind 🙂 It reminded me of being on a long ride with my horse, Arcadius. It had been a very long ride and he was hot and sweaty. We got back to the stables and he decided to go for a roll before I got off his back! He was as happy rolling as your horse is on this card. Thank you for the memory and for sharing such a fun take on the challenge
