Welcome Little One

There is a new challenge this week at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog.  Use a stamp that has not seen ink or if you have inked them all, use one that has not seen ink in some time!  I have quite a few stamps that have not seen ink, so this was an easy challenge for me! Take some time for yourself and come join in the challenge.  Your project needs to have Close To My Heart products to enter.  You can use a mix of products, your entry is not required to be 100% CTMH.

I inked up the January Stamp of the Month, Little Reminder to make this little Welcome Baby card.  I love the simplicity of the card.  Not to mention it is all boy!  I started with a negative image from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  I cut the star at 2 ½”.  I then added a variety of buttons under the image.  No rhyme or reason, just kept moving them until I liked the look.  I really have an issue with naked buttons, so I took the time to add some thread to all of them as well.  All supplies by Close To My Heart except where noted.

Smooch Spray by Clearsnap

I added the Smooch Glitz spray to the negative image prior to adding the stitching to the card.  I think a little sparkle steps the card up a notch.  The little banner was cut freehand and scored to make the folds.

I have also entered this card in the following challenges:

  3. Lovely, Allisa! I love the buttons behind the star like that! I find that I do not like my buttons naked either; but if it is not simple the thread them ( like the thread bunches going through) then I leave them with a slight cringe. :0/

  8. I am sure the card would be just as cute without the buttons being threaded. 🙂 I keep a needle on my craft table, just for threading buttons. Thanks for all of your comments!
