So excited to be the Featured Stamper over at Color Throwdown! Our colors this week are Sage, Black, Kraft and Copper. What I envisioned and what I came up with are not exactly the same, but I think the end result works. I had envisioned more greenery, but those dies were obviously off on vacation. I am in the middle of a craft room reorganization and it may or may not be going as planned! Here are the color swatches for you to come craft along with us-

My original plan was for a CAS card, that ended up just not looking right. I basically kept adding things until I managed to pull it all together. I didn’t have any copper paper in my stash, but did have copper embossing powder. My tag edges were inked with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed. I cut a few dies from the Lovely Layers Winter Greenery dies and added embossing powder to those as well. The cluster of elements was tied together with a twine bow.

To add additional texture, the kraft panel was dry embossed and a few splatters added to pull all of the elements together. My splatters at first appeared black, but dried to a more silvery finish. Overall it was a fun card to create and I love the look of the metallic die cuts.
Design Tip: To heat emboss your die cuts, apply your ink of choice directly to the die cut with your ink pad. VersaMark is my go to for embossing. For larger die cuts, I ink and emboss in sections. If you miss a spot, you can always go back and add more ink and embossing powder. Super simple and gives you more mileage out of your die cut collection.
