The Paper Players is having a fun sketch challenge this week! The moment I saw the sketch, I knew the card I wanted to create. Sadly, it came together in my head so much easier than on paper! My vision had this super cute sparkly spider….but alas, I can not seem to find my bin of Halloween embellishments anywhere! It is obviously time to do a serious clean out in the craft room…..or just find some more sparkly spiders to purchase and then the others are bound to show up! Here is the original sketch design-
To create my card, I started by adhering a strip of black shimmer trim onto a panel of White Daisy cardstock. The panel was then die cut with a stitched panel die. It is all about the details and I wanted the stitched detail in my shimmer trim as well. I then strategically cut three square openings to follow the sketch. I had to do way more math than I liked getting those “mostly” centered! A few detailed spider webs were cut with a die from Memory Box and adhered to the back of the openings. My sentiment and spider were stamped in black pigment ink and heat embossed in clear. They were then fussy cut and mounted with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. Honestly, the only spiders I like are the fun sparkly kind. Otherwise, Eeek! is exactly the response you would get out of me! I know they are super beneficial creatures, they just need to keep to their own space outdoors!

PS. I apologize for this late comment, there have been lots of family stuff going on and I felt somewhat overwhelmed.
I just love this card Allisa – so fun and exactly what I envisioned with my sketch! I love the spider and speech bubble – so glad you persevered in the absence of the sparkly spider. Good luck with the clear-out! Thanks for playing along with my sketch challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
What a great Halloween card! I love everything about it!
