Make the Cards Challenge #17

We have a fun new color challenge for you this week at Make the Cards Challenge. The moment I saw the colors, I instantly thought of fall leaves. Considering, I am still waiting for summer to arrive in the mountains….I decided to go with reddish toned sunflowers instead for a summer vibe! Here are the colors for you to create with-

I created my sunflower patch with stamps and dies from the Joyful Sunflower stamp set. This set features 14 stamps and 6 coordinating metal dies. Just about everyone loves sunflowers…how can you not? They are sure to bring a dose of cheer to your craft room and the recipients of your creations! Here is a look at the complete set-

I created my card by stamping my fence and sunflower images in Intense Black ink onto White Daisy cardstock. The images were colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with Gamsol. The wax from the pencils blurs the stamped image lines slightly. After coloring the images, I stamped the image again in Intense Black to give the image crisp lines. The images were then cut with the coordinating dies.

The outer sunflowers were adhered directly to my die cut panel. The center sunflower and fence line were applied with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. While it is hard to tell in the photos, I could not resist adding a little sparkle. I colored the center of the sunflowers with a shimmer brush for a touch of sparkle.

  1. Your card is fabulous, Allisa! The sunflowers are superbly colored. I lived in Kansas before retiring and always enjoyed seeing the many sunflower fields. Thank you for playing along at Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #445.
