New Baby Congrats

Hey everyone, long time no see! Life has been a little crazy and crafting has been put on the back burner for a few months. Amazing how a few weeks turns into a few months! I have actually been trying to create for the last month, but my craft room became the catch all for everything and a serious clean out was needed. I have decided there are three parts to this hobby…collecting supplies, organizing supplies and creating with said supplies! While I have been unable to create, that has not stopped me from collecting….so some major organizing was needed! I would probably still be organizing but a card was a must, I actually should become a grandma today! Wow, what a milestone. I had to dig deep to come up with some baby themed crafting supplies! The baby category is slim in my craft room, so looks like I have another reason to go shopping! I am sending the parents to be the most adorable cookies and could not send them without a card. For all of you Highland Cow fans, check these out-

Are these not adorable? Sadly, I am not artistically talented enough to make these, they were created by a local baker! I only added my watermark to keep the photo from being stolen. Now if only I had a baby Highland Cow stamp to perfectly coordinate the card! I decided to go with the color scheme which is very similar to the color challenge this week at My Favorite Things.

I am a huge fan of MFT Die-namics dies. Since I did not have a cow stamp that would work for a baby card in my collection, I went with the onesie from the MFT Bundle of Baby Clothes dienamics. My papers are from the The Paper Studio, which covered all of the challenge colors with the exception of Gravel Gray. I added in some matte silver and stamped my sentiment in gray to include the gray component.

This adorable little hanger is what sold me on this die set. Soo cute! Can you tell it has been awhile since I have had babies around! I die cut the onesie three times and adhered them together for added dimension. A sparkly heart from the same paper pack adds in details along with a white gel pen. My sentiments are from the Cutest Baby stamp set by Close To My Heart.

My love for Close To My Heart products started way back in 1995! I had just started scrapbooking and was struggling finding products that matched. I was wasting soo much time and money on a variety of products and not being happy with the finished results. I was thrilled to find the coordinating products by Close To My Heart. The papers and inks are now the core of my crafting collection. I do buy the products I love, so there is a mix of many other brands as well. These papers are obviously not Close To My Heart and out of the hundred or so ink colors I have, none were the exact match. Since the card was complete, minus the sentiment….adding in additional colors really was not an option, not to mention the color challenge! I ended up stamping the banner sentiment with a really light pink on a scrap of the pattern paper and highlighting the Congrats with a white gel pen. Crisis solved! My card is based on the sketch challenge at Try Stamping on Tuesday.
