Make the Cards Challenge #45

We are having a color challenge this week at Make the Cards Challenge. While the colors are listed as Classis Christmas colors, feel free to use the colors in any creation. For me, I am still working on Christmas cards….so Christmas it is. If you have already finished your holiday cards, you can always get a jump start on next year!

As you can tell, I am currently loving poinsettias! I had to take a few weeks off from crafting and took up shopping instead…so I have poinsettias of all shapes and sizes now. Who knew there were soo many poinsettia options in the crafting world! I have always collected snowflake stamps…but poinsettias take the collecting to a whole new level. I am certainly going to have to up my coloring game for the poinsettia stamps!

My card was created using the Bits & Pieces Ephemera by Simple Stories. I paired the pieces with pattern papers by My Mind’s Eye. The original images had a crisp white border, which clashed with my vintage looking papers. I gave the images a vintage feel by sponging on Vintage Photo distress ink. The poinsettia was applied with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. A little bling was added with a gold shimmer brush and gold glitter gems. These two items have become my go to for holiday cardmaking!

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

  • Vintage Christmas Bits & Pieces-Simple Stories
  • Pattern Papers-My Mind’s Eye
  • Z3726 Tags & Tabs Thin Cuts
  • Z3316 Gold Shimmer Brush
  • Z3312 Gold Glitter Gems
  • Z4512 Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink
  • Ribbon-Unknown

I have entered my card in the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will come join us at Make the Cards Challenge!
