Playing with fun new products today! I so love the gorgeous mixed media creations that I see in blog land. I only dabble ever so slightly in them….as I have come to terms with my style leans to the neat and layered. It is fun to step outside of my box, even if only for a moment! Close To My Heart now carries a fun line of Gloss Sprays. My original plan was to just add white and glit gold to my stash, but decided to go with the whole rainbow!
My card is super simple to create. I started with a panel of White Daisy cardstock cut with the Diagonal Stripes Thin Cut. This die is retired but is still available to order in limited quantities. It is my go to die for a stitched slimline frame. Another panel of White Daisy was cut to cover up the stripes and create a base for my star cluster. I cut my Star Cluster Thin Cut three times in White Daisy cardstock. I first sprayed a single cardstock layer with the gloss sprays and set it aside to dry. I was obviously a little hasty in picking it up and managed to tear my die cut image. So, I went back to the drawing board and cut an additional cluster out of watercolor paper. The watercolor paper holds the sprays with much more stability. The first cluster will not go to waste, I will simply trim it down and use it on an A2 card in the future.
I adhered the three die cut star clusters together for additional dimension. The sentiments in the Thoughtful Critters stamp are a perfect fit in the star shapes. A few Crafty sequins and Star Confetti finish out the card. The stamps and dies are featured in the current Slimline Celebration.
